Can we add " Hands Mustard" even though it was my reading of another post in the forum rather than a misreading of a log?

We must add the wonderful

'Discharged one cat care to hospital'

for Discharged one cot case ....

(With grateful acknowledgement to Szukacz)

If Strangford doesn't add his own misreading to this thread pretty soon, I'm going to feel compelled to add it for him!

I just read '7 fireman ratings' as '7 human ratings'. Oops.

warning: do not read this thread while eating peanut M&M's.  It leaves a big mess on the monitor.

I just read: Hands employed working stout boats.

Should have been: Hands employed working about boats.

I honestly hadnt considered the beer aspect of the word stout, when I posted the comment.

The picture in my mind was of very short fat boats with sailors struggling to row them.

For those interested here is a link to the Guinness website about the boats they used to move their stout about.

http://www.irishships.com/guinness_boats.html.

They are true stout boats!!!

I just saw "Evening quartets" followed by tea.

A little Nachtmusik would be nice.

I think Jennfurr's warning, above, should be posted higher up in this thread, to avoid any more "Windex moments."   ;)

"Hands employed cleaning out all boats, refitting fondues"

This rather delightful image was shattered when I turned up the magnification a bit more, to discover that actually they were "refitting fenders".

10 am: 'Tested Monday. timing you.'

Still not entirely sure what it actually says because the writing is so tiny ('tested secondary turning gear', perhaps?), but I'm pretty certain that it's not 'Tested Monday'...;)

I think it's the rather mundane "Tested secondary steering gear" - they've done their best to make it difficult by leaving a huge gap between the "s" and the "t" in "steering" but as the next entry is "Resumed main steering gear" that gave me a clue!
