I've just reached the end of October 1915, we're back in Portsmouth, and the logs now jump to June 1916, so I'm making ground on you, though I don't expect I'll catch you up.

Took a quick look through some of my 'past.' We'll meet  a couple times in July & August in Halifax, Nova Scotia and then again in December in Bermuda!   ;)

Haven't gotten too far into 1917 yet. 'Issues' with the Mods in transferring data.   :-[

Here's a fun bit of transcription from the original transcriber of Berwick Castle:

Cautioned Mr William Morrison, Warrant Engineer R.N.R. for exceeding the allowance of spirits permitted under my written order to be drawn by him from the Ward Room Dress. The above entry has been mad by me. [Signed] WF Blunt Captain [Signed] Wm Morrison Warrant Eng: R.N.R.

;D ;D ;D  I once had a dress with big pockets, but I don't think they could have held the 'grog' allowance for the Officers

Yesterday at work, one of my colleagues wrote to Red Bull to tell them the Norwegian version of redbull.com, which has the country code NO, has moved from old system RB2 to new system RB3.
His first draft of the message started with "Very happy to announce NO LAUNCH today".

Fortunately, he realized that sounded wrong and changed it to "Very happy to announce the LAUNCH of NO today".

(We always communicate in English with Red Bull, for some reason)

:D That's a fun co-incidence! And you hammer plate. So Hammarstrom fits in very well too. What fun  :D

It took me much longer than it should to work out that it said 'Cable locker' not 'Cake locker'  ::)

On 10am line - https://s3.amazonaws.com/oldweather/ADM53-42346/0148_0.jpg

Although I think a cake locker should be required equipment on all ships!
