Odd capital G which looks more like a P at first sight (see for example bottom entry, 'Guard relieved'):

Maybe you've solved the "missing rum" question.

Interesting W - see midday position.  Only managed to work it out because of that location, which means it must be a W.
Also interesting way of writing '5'

The wierdest capital M I have ever seen, from Clio's new log keeper after the recommissioning.

Specifically the M of March at the top of the page.

Here's a very improbable 'N' from Patuca - at 9pm and midnight in the wind direction column, and also towards the bottom of the page with a 'Nor' (i.e Norwegian) ship being boarded.

Here is a V from Avoca that looks like an N. I have seen this several times. Some look even more N-like than this one.

From HMS Ambrose:

the weatherE is quite weird: looks like an h and, if alone, can be mistaken for an N. (I have seen capital Ns that looked like it)

From HMS Orvieto:

The upper Q can be mistaken for an upper L but comparing with the Q in Evening Quarters it reveals itself. It took me 3 pages to discover my mistake.

Ooh.  :o
I've seen Qs that look like 2s, but never anything quite like that.

Well, not a letter, but a good example at 4pm of the difference between a 7 and a 4

A capital 'G' that crops up from time to time in HMS Perth, and every time I see it initially as 'Y'
