Hi all -
Phillip's post got me thinking and inspired - an amazing feat
- so I'm issuing a challenge to you all -
I have written the first verse and the chorus for a song that tells the story of a young sailor, his lady, and his love. I also have a melody in mind, that is rather plaintive. Here is my challenge - add to the song - compose a verse of 4 rhyming lines, furthering the story along - once we have finished it, I'll finish the score and then post it here - I bet we can tell a great story!
Here are the 1st verse and chorus to get us started:
My Lady, My Love
Oh my love, don't you see,
she's left something in me,
she won't let it be,
and I don't think I'll ever be free.
And away we go, on the next flowing tide,
to far away lands and new shores we glide.
My lady is jealous and she'll not let me bide,
here at home, my love, by your side.
PS: AS ALWAYS, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO POST SOMETHING OF YOUR OWN! (I simply started this because I think it would be fun to compose something together
