Hi Szukacz...something almost unbelievably co-incidental happened as I went home this evening. My mobile needed feeding with electricity before I left - so I went down to the big staff room ( I never go there) for a few minutes for a coffee. There was a copy of the Guardian Weekly from November 2011 and in it there was an article about a mock-up trip to Mars ending in a car park in Russia:
    Miriam Elder in Moscow
    guardian.co.uk, Friday 4 November 2011 19.33 GMT
"Mars crew emerge from 18-month mission that never left the car park
The Mars500 experiment that simulated a trip to the Red Planet ends with the volunteers making an undramatic return to Earth"
It's a small world - and planetary system at this rate!
Ava  ;D

Don't panic, we're not that good at this whole spacefaring thing. And it's also crisis over here, big time. I think the guy'd have a hard time finding the funds.
I know we don't always give the right impression with our big brother cannibal kidney-lottery shenanigans, and all really weird shit *does* have a tendency to come from our fair nation, but I've not even heard about this. And in the end most of the weirdness turns out to be a hoax.

There is a major rain/hail/thunderstorm coming up this evening. Always weird when it's still all nice outside but you *know* hell is going to break loose.

Edit: just went to buy lunch. Now it's lovely, warm, gentle breeze on the canals, people eating outside, kids riding their bikes...ans I looked at the coulds and could almost *hear* the Jaws theme music. Tu dun tuduntuduntuduntudun...
qhRtl coming up!

I have not read this author.
Can you recommend something
There are several translations into Polish.
In the original, not try to.
Do not pick up and hint of irony and good humor. :-\

Probably the most 'famous' is 'Fahrenheit 451' (scary premise) or 'Martian Chronicles'.

Fahrenheit 451. I hated reading until I read that - then I treasured books.
I also read The Golden Apples of the Sun which I don't recall in any detail -it is an anthology and I very much enjoyed the stories.

Happy reading!   :D

Well now just beginning to associate  :)
The film, of course, I've seen. Fahrenheit 451  :D
One of my favorite books is "1984" ("Nineteen Eighty-Four")
Of course the book was forbidden by the "Ministry of Truth" in Communist Poland, what an irony.
But maybe now I'll find something equally good.
Thank you.
