Since it was only 'addressed to', I didn't even try it. ;D
I'll worry about it when I get there.

i think it is petro.
But without having some idea where it is, it is hard to decide.

http://www.geographic.org/geographic_names/name.php?uni=-4177379&fid=5401&c=russia - this is inland but maybe the package is to be relayed?

It might be Pertopavlosk http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky but as Randi says, it is only "addressed to". I would ignore it (but I am lazy  ;D)

Doh!
It's not a place it's a person. Lowski is a surname.  ::)
Great addressing....'Blogs', Outer Mongolia, would be more ridiculously remote I guess.  :P

Thanks for al your replies - I'll go with Petro - seems sensible...  I just hope Petro Lowski turns out to be some secret agent for I can't imagine what.   :o

hmmm -and I think there's a tiny hyphen. Gastcra, I think you have the answer....it's a likely place. I wonder if the Rodgers will be off there soon?
Not to worry too much about it just now then...  ;)

I think this is the barter that pays for their usage of the frontier mail system.  "I'll pass your package on the the right direction if you'll take mine."  Think of it as postage for earlier drop-offs. ;D

That's fascinating - we are indeed dealing with the frontier - a very different way of life. I love 1881!  :D  (BUt then I don't have to actually live it.   ::))
