I ought to apologize - I've been moaning all day.. I DO appreciate what the database folks are doing..and everything does take time.  Do keep us updated with their progress.

Some days you just need to moan!

GOOD thing is you have friends who CARE :-*

Now - have a wine and SMILE!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I have not been able to reproduce this interesting feature but I added it to the guide (in italics).

Try creating a weather box and click OK. Then click in the grey part of the box (creating a rogue window). Then try editing the weather report you just made. You won't see the entry boxes and headings.  Then scroll down and try to close the rogue window. I am not able to close it. At this point I am stuck and begin kicking my computer repeatedly (to no avail).

Thanks Craig. I get it.
I will add a description of how this occurs.
Janet has already included the problem on the 'please fix' list.
And please do not kick your computer. You might break something; probably your toes.

I am kicking the computer so that I won't kick Charley, the indifferent cat, who doesn't listen to my complaints  :D  It's time I got a new computer anyway.

'get a new computer' ....or cat (have some compassion for your dad, Charley!)  ::) ;)

'Ah, but do you listen to Charley's complaints'  - it's a good question. :-\ ;D

Overall - worse things happen at sea.  ;D

Ah, but do you listen to Charley's complaints ;)

Incessently! He wakes us up with his crying at dawn every morning to come in to eat and when I am just falling asleep again he starts crying to get out. If I don't respond he jumps on the night table and knocks my glasses onto the floor and begins playing with them until I am forced to get up. Apart from that he's a good cat. He never scratches the sofa.

So I think he owes it to me to be a bit more understanding  ;D

It noticed that the guide says that if you get a rogue entry box then drag it to the correct position to complete the entry. But if you get one when you already have another entry box open you must delete the rogue box immediately before proceeding or you will no longer be able to make entries. The only recourse at the point is to refresh the page (and lose everything you have done) or Save (even though you haven't completed the page). This is a difficult choice when you have spent 20 minutes or so on a page.

I've been saving them, hoping to return to repair/finish, but can't open any of my old logs like I used to be able to do (with the British ships).  Is there some trick? ???  I figured out where to go to see the x-minute-ago thumbnails, enticing, but the trail ends there. :-\  [I've not scoured the forum to see if the instructions have been posted.]  My issue hasn't been so much with rogue boxes but with the magnifier condensing to a wee square in the center, and no coaxing on my part will return it to normal.
