Don't know if this needs to be added or not:

Inian Cove
58.270388, -136.353904

The list currently has Inian Islands, which may be good enough

Added to ref & map (we've plenty of space ;D),  thanks asterix

It's been a while since Concord was in the Aleutians; this is from Pioneer. You may already know about these places, I don't know. If you want me to PM these to a specific person, please let me know.

Alaskan Place Names -- Reference (http://forum.oldweather.org/index.php?topic=3644.0) has a formal list. That is the best place to search.
You can also get a link to it via Welcome to Geographical Help (http://forum.oldweather.org/index.php?topic=3637.0)

This is the correct place to list names - it allows people to search for names that haven't yet been added to the corresponding reference topic.

Yup! :D

I generally wait for a few places to stack here before adding them all at once to the maps and reference thread, since adding one or twenty takes more or less the same time... right now i've an additional 80 places to add to the Alaskan thread from last Unalga voyages, so it's due time for an update.

Each reference thread, other than a plain list, has also links to a GoogleEarth map and a GoogleMaps chart which could be searched quite easily.

Three more for the records. If you search for Egg Island you get sent well to the east for an Egg Island on the panhandle. I found this Egg Island while looking for Cape Aliaksin. Mapcarta is handy because it shows names of places nearby and it has little green markers you can click on to get various names. This is the Pioneer's 1923 Egg Island, because it is in the area where she's working.

Whirl Point54.82-163.38
Cape Aliaksin55.48-160.74
Egg Island55.23-161.35Just north of Wosnesenski Island

All added to map and reference, thanks Michael

You found Cape Aliaksin!  I'm really impressed - I've hunted all over for it.  It doesn't come up often, but occasionally they fetch up there.  As you're probably discovering, Pioneer gets to some small and obscure places in her summers of surveying.

Thank you, but it was easier than finding Egg Island - that's the one that was a real challenge. Pioneer's perambulations are much more interesting than Concord's sitting in some Chinese treaty port reporting the movements of various coastal steamers, merchant and navy ships while trying to keep a surly crew under control.  ;D
