The place table is a good idea but why lat/long in decimal?
If I look up a place in this place I then have to change it to deg min.
Glad you like the tables, and thanks for your contributions
In the Editorial Office editors are requested to use decimal (needless to say, transcribers should use the format in the logbook!), so I thought it would be simpler to use decimal here. I have to admit that it has taken a bit of time for me to adjust to this format!
Both mapcarta.com (see attached) and geographic.org give both d/m/s and decimal. Also we will do the conversion if necessary.
Thanks for using the table. There is just one tricky part: you need to replace the 'http://'
after the 'url=' with the link. I can't seem to stop the system from adding the 'http://'
