Seems the Yorktown is stopping by the Caribbean again :)

http://oldweather.s3.amazonaws.com/ow3/final/USS%20Yorktown/vol006of040_cr2_to_jpg/vol006of040_123_1.jpg

Culebritas Ids. (Isla Cuebrita)   18.31, -65.23
http://www.geonames.org/4564080/isla-culebrita.html

St. Thomas 18.33, -64.92  and St Thomas Harbor
(This map has the Island and the habour marked, although the map is upside-down)
http://historicalcharts.noaa.gov/tiled/zoomifypreview.html?zoomifyImagePath=904-12-1901
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saint_Thomas,_U.S._Virgin_Islands

Both already present in reference thread (US Virgin Islands "country")

Virgin passage    18.33, -65.16
Is marked on the historical map above, it is the stretch of water between isla De Culabra/Culebrita and Savana Island which is just west of St. Thomas. It's also marked on geonames.
http://www.geonames.org/10103828/virgin-passage.html

Havensight   18.33, -64.92
http://www.geonames.org/4795883/havensight-point.html

Fredrick Tower (Frederik seems to be the the general spelling)
I can't find a Frederik/Fredrick Tower however there is a Frederiksberg point with a tower marked on top of Blue Beard Hill/Castle.    18.34, 64.93
http://www.geonames.org/4795760/frederiksberg-point.html
http://historicalcharts.noaa.gov/tiled/zoomifypreview.html?zoomifyImagePath=933-10-1920
The tower has now been incorperated into a hotel...
https://www.wheretostay.com/st_thomas-attractions (see bluebeard's castle and Frederiksberg)

Going from the bearing they give in the logbook this first option seems to be the place they mean. There is also on the historical map, is a Frederik point (18.33, -64.92)
According to Wiki, Fort Willoughby (or what remains of it) was built here on the same site as what was previously Fort Frederik, and there may have been a tower associated with it?? But as I said this wouldn't match the bearings.
http://www.geonames.org/4795757/frederik-point.html
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hassel_Island,_U.S._Virgin_Islands

Agree... give the bearings, the tower on Bluebeard Hill should indeed be the mentioned

Fort Christian     18.34, -64.93
http://www.geonames.org/4795727/fort-christian.html

All places added to map, ref & csv. Thanks bluemuffin!

The logbook appears to have used "Cape Talse" for Cabo Falso (4-8am). However, I'm not sure this is an alternative name, but more possibly just a horrendously bad mispelling, possibly with bonus confusion relating to Cabo Tasco.

Totally agree... "Cape False" alias (i think it's what the logkeeper meant to use) is already present, maybe he was reading a map in which the F was partly covered by Baja California peninsula coastline, or maybe he got confused with Cabo Tasco.
Anyway i agree it does not sounds like a plausible alternate name for that place.

Caro found: the Central American and Mexico Pilot at http://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=hvd.hnqeyx
This link gives access to the whole book.

We currently have Central America and Mexican pilot at https://books.google.fr/books?id=uEAPAQAAMAAJ
It is the same book. However this link only allows me to search, so it should probably be replaced by the above link.

Reference thread modified accordingly. Thanks Randi!
