text is wider than I am
« on: May 22, 2013, 06:21:52 pm »
When composing messages today there's been no automatic wrap on the text - it just keeps going and going like a Roman Mile. Any advice please?
Ta muchly,
J

I haven't noticed any problems, but I have been going crazy deleting spam and banning spanners. Caro and Janet talked about a problem that was fixed - but this just wrapped normally. What browser are you using?

I am also using Firefox and Windows 7

I've got the same problem - Windows 7 and Firefox.  I wait till it gets to the end, go to preview which is fine.  That seemed a very much smaller problem than my log in problems.

I think I read something about clearing cache and cookies...

I had the problem in Chrome, Caro in Foxfire - it makes no difference.  The elongated message box was tweaked back to normal by Arfon, but our computers have memories.  You have to clear your cache.

Chrome help: https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95582?hl=en
Firefox help: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-clear-firefox-cache?esab=a&s=clear+cache&r=0&as=s#os=win7&browser=fx20

Other browsers: I don't know, but they can do it somehow. ???

Once the cache was cleared, I had very good new-format Forum.

The first time, I also did the cookies and browser history because there were obsolete choices popping up on me.  The cookies at least may be conserving the defective box.

Hi,

On pretty every browser you could also try reloading the single page without cache using Ctrl+F5 (it has worked for me without problem on FF). The new version of the page will be the one cached from then on.

Wow! I do learn so much from OW. So I'm going to say thank you at enough length to test out Propriome's cache update using ctrl+F5. It certainly made the page do something - a few things seemed to refresh. And here we go we're about to hit the end...- YES! Cure affected. Ctrl+F5
BTW I'm on Firefox.
Thank you everyone!
