Oh I do feel guilty - I never quite got the time to go back to the ships mascot museum in America (was it Seattle?) I must do that. I don't understand Twitter so I have no idea of how to add to the list, but I wonder if the picture with the bear has any relationship to the Russian bear that was sold to the crew of the Intrepid. The full, and hilarious, story is in the book by Captain Rupert Stanley Gwatkin-Williams, 'Under the Black Ensign'.

The bear is Hokko, mascot of the Panzerschiff Deutschland, according to one of Steven's previous tweets (@DrStevenGray).
