Mention that man in despatches
« on: October 30, 2010, 08:57:52 pm »
The logbook recorder starting around 1st November 1923 on Hood. Beautiful handwriting, no dittos, all events given a precise time. Oh what a joy for this poor clerk!  :)

Nice.  You should post an example so we can all turn green with envy.  :)

Hope this works - maybe not the best example but I don't know how to get the addresses of all the old pages - this is in fact the oldest one on my "Recent logs" list.

I see it comes up as a page to edit - if you right click and save the image then you will get a clean copy which you can enlarge.

Check out the exquisite handwriting on this one... he either came board January 1 1916, or changed jobs then, because he's been doing the logs for a couple of months now.  It's a breath of fresh air from previous!

Lovely!

I've had a few different people doing the logs on the HMS Fame, but they've all got lovely legible handwriting.

Both very clear jennfurr and cyzaki which is, of course what we all want.

I have seen some really pretty handwriting too - all very regular and just very pretty to look at. Maybe not so easy to read though. Here is an example:-

I would enter him for a "Most Attractive Handwriting" contest :).
