H.B.Joyce the pilot, and H.W.Frus, H.Greenwood, J.D.McDonald and C.J.Jakobsen halibut fishermen, were paid off and sent ashore, their services no longer required.

This last cruise was to discover alternate halibut fishing grounds following restrictions on U.S. vessels using Canadian fishing grounds and ports.  The Pilot had also been captain of a halibut trawling vessel.  The Albatross had exchanged its usual variety of ships boats for dories that were used for trawling in the areas investigated.

Received the ships' two prahms with oars & oar locks from Storage ashore.

F.Santos m.att.2c and G.Acuna, MAtt2c, absentees.

G.Acuna, M.Att. & F.Santos M.Att. returned from liberty 9 hours overtime.

These names match to sailors taken on as N.O.S. (Native O.S.) as part of the Native Filipino Insular force in the Albatross expedition to the Philippines in 1908.
