We're sorry, but something went wrong.
« on: July 17, 2015, 06:24:56 pm »
Has anyone been having trouble with this in the past 24-48 hrs?

Thanks.

Haven't been around a lot, but so far everything is tickety-boo (that's probably put the mockers on it ::) ;) )   :)

What browser are you using, Randi?  I get that message from time to time on Chrome, though not particularly on anything OW related and not in the last 24-48 hours.

Not me - there is a new transcriber having problems with IE and also with Firefox.
She is getting it consistently.

  • Better to do it, than live with the fear of it.

I don't have any problems either.

I sometimes get that message when I log on and the randomly selected ship I am presented with happens to be the Unalga or the Jamestown 1866 - both of those are still active, but I have gone as far as I could on both.
I just hit Refresh to solve that problem.

A quick check on Google suggests there are multiple possibilities that trigger this error message, which is not very helpful, I'm afraid.

I am wondering if it is because she registered on the new Zooniverse site :-\ :-\ :-\

We are doing some testing and I have sent a message to the PTB.

I started the ball rolling, and then Randi took over during my day, me being out-and-about.  This is scary, wondering how newbies are getting stuck.  She's on my side of the Atlantic as far as when she may try again.

I'll go check that, brb.

EDIT: Yep, I made a new account and I keep getting that message whenever I click on a ship or click on Transcribe.

EDIT 2: Actually, now I can't even log into my regular account... (glitches with "Get Started")

Ouch!!  The good news is, some one among the PTB picked up the problem this evening and said he'd handle it.  What exact kind of problem are you getting from the "Getting Started" button?  I'll pass that on to them so they can fix your account also.

I guess that because it goes through "transcribe" when you click that (that's the URL that's there when the error message Randi reported happens,) it's that page that's having the problem with redirecting it to a log-in screen I guess. :P I can log into other projects but for Old Weather it's a no-go.

I.E., the error message Randi reported is the one I'm getting as soon as I click it or try to transcribe a ship, and the URL that shows when this happens is oldweather.org/transcribe

Thanks a lot for testing that, tastiger!

I will send your findings - and problem - to the programming team.

What name is your new account under?

It was titled "Fake". Without the quotation marks.

...Was thinking it was the safest to not be used and a good account to test with.
