Location Lat/Long Not OK
« on: October 24, 2015, 06:58:57 am »
I cannot get the OK button to work when entering Lat and Long Locations.  Works for just place names though.  Works everywhere else.

Close button leaves the area highlighted but not always saved with the page.

Using firefox and windows 7.  Computer restart did not change anything.

What are the coordinates that are giving you trouble?

I tried 30 30 N, 30 30 W and that worked fine.
However in the past I have had problems with weird positions and TWYS.
I suspect that there is some error checking in the software...

Classic OW

I am doing this page

Possibly an attempt to enter N as North throws the system but later attempts to enter as N also fail.

Yes. I have seen that sort of thing...

Go ahead and finish this page normally, then edit it to remove the position(s), save it, then edit it to add the position with N and W.

This in one of those times when you can't TWYS ;)

I have gotten weird problems if I do one of the following:

- Forget to change the place type to "Observed" or "D.R."
- Enter an impossible coordinate (more than 180 E or W, or more than 90 N or S)
- Enter two latitudes or two longitudes at once

But I just tried entering the location on this page, and it worked fine (I didn't finish the page - just tested the location, and then left).

It doesn't matter whether I enter it as S 44 02 or 44 02 S, and it doesn't matter whether I press the OK button or hit the Enter key instead.
In other words, nothing's wrong for me (Win10, Chrome).

I was entering North and West rather than N and W.  Then the problems occurred.
I know better now :-[
