I have had runaway box drawing on my grids.
I have found that clicking Pan and then clicking on a spot where there is no heading will generally allow me to get out of that mode and delete the extra rows that I have drawn.

I got an entry box, but there was nothing marked to enter.
I zoomed in and out, looked at the whole page, looked under the entry box...
The next box was normal.

I just tried transcribe on every ship.
The only ship where I got a page is Northwind 1946, and that is a page I annotated.
I did not transcribe that page (31 July remarks).

My preference is to annotate pages and then transcribe then, so this works fine for me.

I got a couple of these randi. I thought they might be a by-product of having deleted a couple of boxes (although the area I deleted them from did not match the spurious area). I did another page and purposely deleted two boxes, but that time nothing happened in the way of spurious transcriptions boxes turning up when I went to 'transcribe this page'  :-\

I just went thru the list and did get pages to transcribe on Bear 1899, Hassler 1874 & 1875, and Northland 1930 - all ships I've experimented annotating on but not finishing the transcriptions.  Indeed everyone must do their own annotating, which I agree is not a bad thing.  I was transcribing Whaling yesterday, and many descriptions had two and three different length boxes on the same phrase which gets tiresome.

Seems like it's worth checking whether or not the fact you can only transcribe your own annotations is a bug - after all, the entire point of splitting them up was so that you didn't have to do both!

Trust me, everyone involved in the development will be reading comments here when they get to work tomorrow.  I'm just not going to send them any posts about it on their Sunday.  :)

Second you on that one Janet :)

Anyway - yesterday I had horrid problems with Firefox with ending up drawing a miserable mess of boxes. GOT IT SORTED - but it's odd.
When I try to click on a box to delete it I can only get the 'delete annotation' box if I click on the offending box then move my mouse right up to the Firefox menu bar. Then once I click 'OK' it only deletes the box when I move my mouse right up to the Firefox menu bar.

Weird - but sorted  :-\ :D

Very strange - I am using Firefox (42.0) and I don't have any problem deleting boxes.

I thought I was firefox 41 but I've moved into 42 as well.
Wonder what the difference is - curious  :-\

There's quite a bunch of new things, actually:

Quote from: The Wiki
- Private Browsing with Tracking Protection that blocks certain Web elements that could be used to record your behavior across sites
- Control Center that contains site security and privacy controls
- Indicator added to tabs that play audio with one-click muting
WebRTC improvements:
- IPV6 support
- Preferences for controlling ICE candidate generation and IP exposure
- Hooks for extensions to allow/deny createOffer/Answer
- Improved ability for applications to monitor and control which devices are used in getUserMedia
Login Manager improvements:
- Improved heuristics to save usernames and passwords
- Editing and showing all logins in line, Copy/Paste usernames/passwords from the Context menu
- Migration imports your passwords to Firefox from Google Chrome for Windows and Internet Explorer; import anytime from the Login Manager
- Improved performance on interactive websites that trigger a lot of restyles
- Implemented ES6 Reflect
- Support for ImageBitmap and createImageBitmap()
- Media Source Extension for HTML5 video available for all sites
- Viewing HTML source in a tab
- Remote website debugging over WiFi (no USB cable or ADB needed)
- Asynchronous call stacks now allow web developers to follow the code flow through setTimeout, DOM event handlers, and Promise handlers
- Configurable Firefox OS Simulator in WebIDE, to simulate reference devices like phones, tablets, even TVs
- CSS filter presets in the Inspector
- Ability to save filter presets inside CSS Filter Tooltip

(The first three are pretty good, but I don't understand all of the others either, so please don't ask!)

Just off to give it a try  :D
Yes - still happening as described - I must put the mouse up to the address line on firefox to elicit the 'delete annotation' box. And then once I've pressed 'OK' the 'button' appears to be depressed -but doesn't bob up and delete things - until I move my mouse back to the address line.  :-\  Wish I could take a video for you  :-\
