Welcome to Northland (1935) and a new phase of Old Weather.

As before, this topic is for asking questions and sharing information.
Now it will also be used to help coordinate transcriptions as we develop the new system.

Ice Hunting

June 3 - Bering Sea

June 4 - "looking for lead in ice", 61 59 N, 166 30 W
June 6 - "various courses rounding ice pack", 61 50 N, 167 34 W
June 7 - "working through ice" early a.m., in Nome anchorage at noon
June 9 - "working through slush ice", 64 14 N, 162 43 W

June 10 to 30 - Various locations, no ice reports: Unalakleet, Golofnin, Nome, Elim, Golofnin, Nome, Gambell, Savoonga, Nome, Teller.

July - No ice reports. Locations included Port Clarence, Nome, Golofnin Bay, St. Michael, Unalaska, Savoonga.

August 1 to 13 - No ice reports. Nome, Golofnin Bay, Shishmaref, Kotzebue, Point Hope, Point Lay.

August 14 - "Entering scattered ice", 71 21 N, 157 18 W

August 15 to 31 - No ice reports. Wainright, Point Lay, Point Hope, Cape Thompson, Kotzebue, Kiwalik, Teller, Nome.

No further ice reports.

September - Nome, St. Michael, Golofnin Bay, King Island, Dutch Harbor, Unalaska.
October - Dutch Harbor, Nome, Gambell, Savoonga, St. Michael, Golofnin Bay, Shaktolik, Unalakleet.
November - Unalaska, departed for Seattle Nov 10, Zachary Bay, Frederick Sound, Seattle on Nov 21.
December - Seattle.
