Welcome to Northland (1936) and a new phase of Old Weather.

As before, this topic is for asking questions and sharing information.
Now it will also be used to help coordinate transcriptions as we develop the new system.

I don't know specifically, my method is to just start scanning the comments page after they leave Seattle.

Reading is best - I found a report to the location of the edge of the ice pack from another ship on a log page.

In Seattle until May. No ice up to June 5, which is the last page in the Jan-Jun series.

Arrived in Barrow Alaska on August 11, 1936. No mention of ice so far.
Back to Nome on August 31 - No mention of ice yet.
No ice found to Sept 30 in Dutch Harbor.  Logs jump to December 1 in Seattle Wash.
November logs follow December logs. Nov. 1 en route to Seattle - arrived in Seattle Nov. 4
October logs follow November's. Oct. 1 in Bering Sea
October 5 in Nome. No ice found in October logs.
No ice found in 1936 logs
