Welcome to Northland (1939) and a new phase of Old Weather.

As before, this topic is for asking questions and sharing information.
Now it will also be used to help coordinate transcriptions as we develop the new system.

The Northland remained in California from Jan 1 to July 21 1939 and subsequently headed south reaching Panama on August 6.
Arrived in Boston, Mass on August 19.
Left Boston for Sept 15 to Staten Island, NY and then to Norfolk VA.
Left Norfolk for Caribbean on Sept 24
Back in Alameda Cal on Oct 24
Still in Alameda on Dec 31.

I am guessing they didn't encounter any ice this year but I didn't check every page. There might have been some stray icebergs drifting in the Caribbean that I missed.  ;D
