Welcome to Northland (1927) and a new phase of Old Weather.

As before, this topic is for asking questions and sharing information.
Now it will also be used to help coordinate transcriptions as we develop the new system.

Received following telegram from the Commissioner of Health of Alaska, Juneau,
Alaska, August 31, 1927: Mysterious epidemic reported Illiamna, four deaths
in three days, headache paralysis, vomiting stop am trying to get hydroplane
to go from Anchorage if unsuccessful will you stop Illiamna and investigate".
Sent following message in reply, to Juneau--Government CG-1001 Following for
Mr. DeVighne, Commissioner of Health, Juneau, Alaska Quote If you are unable
to get hydroplane from Anchorage NORTHLAND will visit Illiamna and investigate
stop Leaving for Latouche September 1, Seward September 2, keep me advised
unquote 0030.  Dental Officer furnished dental treatment to a native.

Charles Grimm quote Judge Finch and Mrs. Hope both desperately ill for some
days and urgently in need of medical attention stop our efforts bring no
improvements stop no doctor in Unalaska unquote  1315 Sent following message in
reply:  1004 NORTHLAND will start for Unalaska as soon as urgent duty here will
permit stop what is nature of Finch's illness stop keep me advised
