It's very odd, because the only way I can think of that it might have gotten there is, as Janet suggested, someone at the Archive put it in Una's log book as a book mark.  But why would they use that?  I would think they'd treat any old document as important.

A report of what was onboard a civilian steamer named "Zaire".  The ship and all of its cargo is apparently legit, but a few of the passengers didn't make the grade and were taken into custody.

Thanks for showing it to us.  What ship are you on that had this?
:) Did I not post a link? The ship is Europa

It's called being absent-minded.  ;)  Very common (and embarassing) among the intelligent who are concentrating on a different task.

Hi
Three pages that I understand may be of interest. I originally posted it onto the incorrectly scanned tread as I couldnt read part of the comments but Janet asked me to repost here.

They are from the log of HMS Espiegle from early April 1923. She has just come out of refit in Bombay.

http://oldweather.s3.amazonaws.com/ADM%2053-77067/ADM%2053-77067-0166_1.jpg

There is also one page between these two with more correction information. I cant get that one to come up as a view of the whole page, except as a small jpg, so I hope that this is of use.

Let me know if you need more.

In December 1922, Foxglove ended a long docking in Hong Kong and there is a blue page in the log with up-to-date compass deviations for each point of the compass. Interestingly, this page isn't loose because there are printed instructions on the reverse that it can be torn out if not required. Perhaps they were usually so removed and few have survived.

From Foxglove -

This is probably why the page did not scan properly -

HMS Torch spent April 20th to 23rd trying to tow the Russian Destroyer "Schast Livi" for very long miles.  I posted it all (in links instead of describing in detail because it is very lengthy) on http://forum.oldweather.org/index.php?topic=885.new#new

But this was the separate sheet with everything they lost - during the first tow!!  http://oldweather.s3.amazonaws.com/ADM%2053-63337/ADM%2053-63337-014_1.jpg

The disasterous second tow losses are in the noon blocks at http://oldweather.s3.amazonaws.com/ADM%2053-63337/ADM%2053-63337-015_1.jpg
